Indication

Constipation; relief of the following symptoms associated with constipation: abdominal distension, loss of appetite, hemorrhoids, rough skin, breakouts, abnormal gut fermentation, heaviness of the head, and flushing.

Active Ingredients (per 3 tablets (maximum single dose))

Bisacodyl 15mg
Sennoside calcium 40mg (equivalent to 15.8mg sennosides A and B)

Inactive Ingredients

Carmellose calcium, cellulose, lactose, white soft sugar, hypromellose, hypromellose phthalate, povidone, macrogol, acacia, kaolin, calcium carbonate, carnauba wax, glycerin fatty acid ester, magnesium stearate, shellac, talc, titanium oxide, potato starch, red No. 2, red No. 3

Instructions for Use

  • Take once daily at bedtime (or on an empty stomach) with a full glass (~180 mL) of water or lukewarm water. Start with the minimum dose (1 tablet) and gradually adjust based on bowel movement response.

  • Do not chew or crush the tablets — this is an enteric-coated formulation designed to dissolve in the intestines, not the stomach. Do not take with antacids or milk.
  • If taking on an empty stomach, wait at least 2 hours after a meal.
  • When removing the tablet from the PTP sheet, press the convex part firmly with your fingertips to break the foil on the back. Do not swallow the PTP sheet whole, as it may injure the esophagus.
  • Do not take other laxatives while taking this medication.
  • Do not take if you are breast-feeding, or stop breast-feeding if you take this medication.
  • Do not exceed the specified dosage.
  • Consult a doctor, pharmacist, or registered salesperson before use if you:
  • (1) Are under medical treatment.
  • (2) Are pregnant or may be pregnant.
  • (3) Have a history of allergic reactions to medications.
  • (4) Have severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting.
  • Stop taking immediately and consult a doctor, pharmacist, or registered salesperson, bringing this package insert with you, if any of the following symptoms appear:
  • • Skin: Rash, redness, itching.
  • • Digestive system: Severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting.
  • If diarrhea persists or worsens, stop and consult a doctor, pharmacist, or registered salesperson, bringing this package insert with you.
  • If symptoms do not improve after about 1 week, stop and consult a doctor, pharmacist, or registered salesperson, bringing this package insert with you.
  • Follow the specified dosage exactly.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Do not transfer to another container. Do not use after the expiry date.

Additional Information

SURULAC-S contains two stimulant ingredients that promote bowel peristalsis (intestinal motility), making it effective for persistent, troublesome constipation.
Bisacodyl typically takes effect 6 to 12 hours after taking. Taking at bedtime is expected to produce results by the following morning.
Urine may be colored orange or reddish after taking this medication.
